Just finished San Andreas and with that, the GTA trilogy. They definitely fixed a lot of issues from launch but I still had a few. But man, what a nostalgia trip.

Gonna Play Starfield next and then start on Spider-Man before 2 comes out. Gotta do a story refresh playthrough.
Do you think this is worth it if you don’t have like, say an easy, already set up emulation ‘station’?

I remember launch day, being so excited, even listening to a bit of the soundtrack, then so disappointed when the impressions rolled in.

Unless you really care about trophies or just having the game in your collection, not really. Emulation can get you better results.

I finally started up the Trails in the Sky trilogy thanks to getting a Steam Deck back at my birthday, I’m in the middle of Chapter 2 of SC :)

edit: and just finished Chapter 2 🥳
What kind of model did you get? Are you happy with the SD so far? I was thinking of buying a 64 GB model and upgrade the storage.

that’s what I ended up doing, I got the 64GB back during the Spring sale and then upgraded it to a 2TB

I’ve since also installed Windows 11 on it to dual boot & be able to play some games that you can’t on SteamOS so I have ~1.5TB for SteamOS & another 500GB for Windows)

then I also have a 1TB microSD I use for Windows and another 1TB I use for EmuDeck (which is amazing, I highly recommend using EmuDeck) 😅 I spent more time fiddling with it than I do playing games 😝

My little pony and Paw Patrol on PSPlus.... very engrossed in the plots of these epic games.

PSPlus "is the best value in gaming" (Trademarked by PlayStation, if used by Xbots they will be prosecuted)

Baldur's Gate 3, right now could be my GOTY, just started Act 2 and loving it!

Got Starfield day 1, but cause I'm still playing BG3, I decided to wait for a few patches before continuing. I tested it on a few of my rigs, the one I recently built with a 6950XT does well with it and the PC I built for my sister with a 6800XT plays it really well too, will wait to see how it plays on the rig i have with the 4090, but I'm sure by the time I get around to it some official DLSS mod will be out ot help with performance

Still replaying Persona 5

About 15-16 hours into Sea of Stars and it's... okay.
Like I definitely think it's a little overrated. It's like a 7.5/10 so far. Strong points are the pixel art which is quite good, however the game itself is lacking that "it" factor. First of all, it needs voice acting. The character writing is average and it could have been saved with some decent voice work. The main characters are cardboard, and don't really have enough dialogue to flesh out their personalities (except the one overly positive dude who's like the participation-medal member of the party). Level design is fine, although it is carried too much by the excellent art direction and less by the actual design of the levels themselves. They're not bad, just not anything that is mindblowing. Serviceable is what I'd call it. Music is pretty good, but for something that has Yasunori Mitsuda as a guest composer I was expecting a little more. I don't think it's because it's substandard musically, but it just doesn't gel for me. Nothing super memorable so far either. Boss fights are actually pretty good and shows the game in its best light, the turn based combat is actually fun. Story is kinda middling so far. It's struggling to hold my interest. I think maybe it's because I don't care about the characters due to the first point about character writing?

Playing Dead Space remake PS5 and Red Matter 2 psvr2.

Red Matter 2 looks incredible. It really shows what the psvr2 panel is capable off when properly utilised. The crispest visuals in vr yet I’m sure. However I’m stuck on a puzzle and need to come back.

Dead Space remake - great game. But memories from playing the original are flooding back, plot somewhat muted, and environments kind of feeling too maze like. But that’s a minor complaint with so much going for it, love the new 0 G mechanics. Some of the gfx have blemishes I haven’t noticed brought up, such as the fog being a bit unstable and poppy depending how you turn - only in certain places tho, but overall a great game. Callisto protocol getting a bad rep tho - it has much of what makes DS great also.

Alan Wake Remaster, in preparation for Alan Wake 2.

I absolutely loved Control one of my favourite games of all time, so i was excited to go back into Alan Wake. Unfortunately while the games story is good, the gameplay and conbat is horrible.

Alan runs out of stamina after running for 5 seconds, it makes the game really tedious. Every zone u need to fight shadow hillbillies

You’re not worried about overplay playing Spider-Man back to back?
Yeah, thought about it. I plan on mixing it up with other games and I can draw it out until the very end of next month. I only played through the story of each game once and it's been a while, so that should help.

Yeah, I finished the remake recently. Very dated game in many ways. Control was brilliant

Where it’s at.
I picked up Borderlands: Pandora’s Box Collection and have been working on BL3, and enjoying it. Also lots of Vanpire Survivors on Switch and a little F-Zero 99.

Any recommendations for PlayStation exclusives I should play? Assume I’ve played none, I’d like to finish and review the essentials.

Still working my way through platinuming every game in the Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster collection on PS4 - I'm currently on FFIV, probably 60-70% through it at the moment. It's amazing how much they beefed up the length when they made the transition to the SNES. How Long to Beat says the average playtime for 100% is 30 hours, although I'm generally a bit under that. Either way, it took me 10ish hours to 100% each of the first 3 games in the collection, and I'm at about 15 hours now on IV and still have a good bit to go. The site also estimates 60 hours each for V and VI, so those two will take even longer, but I'm here for it!
