Check the Marathon subreddit, the majority of them looking forward to Arc Raiders and are generally more interested in that.

It does seem like everything going against the success of Marathon.

And it does remind me of what happened to Concord in which the sentiment was downplayed. We saw what happened.

The marathon subreddit is filled with destiny complainers and people that can’t into the marathon alpha

Where is this supposed “majority” caring more about arc raiders?

Just read the YouTube comments “Concord here, Concord there.” It’s a joke at this point. The PC version of Concord didn’t just flop, it obliterated any hope Sony had for live service games. Whatever fantasy they were chasing died before it even left the gate.

And I’ll say it loud: if Concord had stayed a PlayStation exclusive, there would be no embarrassing Steam CCU numbers, no headlines calling out its failure before launch due to those numbers. Sony could’ve quietly claimed that Concord didn’t set the world on fire, but they were satisfied and moved on. It wouldn’t have become the internet’s latest punchline.

But no they had to chase the PC crowd and got exactly what they deserved. Call it karma, call it stupidity. Either way, they bet against their own console and lost.

Everyone love to drag Concord but its just a coincidence a PC pvp game like Spectre Divide you know the same game Shroud was pushing as the next big thing mega flopped and died its funny how everybody don't even mention that game at all. Concord even had more concurrent players on steam than that game but you don't see it getting the same constant thrashing even after its death like Concord that's when you know its a big agenda to spread FUD on any PlayStation pvp multiplayer game from the trolls and the industry.

Just more and more proof that Xbox fans aren’t really a thing, they are just PlayStation haters.

What’s hilarious is that Xbox fans now depend on PlayStation gamers for survival.

Yet they still can’t stop the passive aggressive cold war games they play with titles like Marathon, still butthurt and bitter that Microsoft’s crown jewel is part of PlayStation Studios

What is Paul talking about?

Doesn’t know what it wants to be? It’s a PvPvE extraction shooter. It’s not rocket science what it wants to be

Some run of the mill arc raiders game that looks massively downgraded is somehow now doing everything better in the genre despite what you can clearly see is piss poor gunplay?

Watch any interview from this dope and his demeanor is just awful, the guy has no soul

The narrative.

This really sounds like a troll to me.

The last thing Marathon needs is a Concord developer to come out and speak for them.

Posioned chalice if I ever saw one.
Idk why Bungie/Sony doesn’t have control of there own reddit companies like Activision has say & control of the cod reddit silencing overly negative criticism mainly cheaters which as for Sony/Bungie having a ex concord dev even making any remarks to marathon is just a bad look like why would Bungie want any ex concord dev to say anything about there project as if it won’t be looked as a meme.

I can also see the whole “ex concord devs say” be a meme for grifters to downplay & tarnish PS GAAS imagine Fairgames gets a further deep dive which Fairgames already have the grifters & negativity headline I can see grifters & media make a post in the Fairgames reddit as a meme such as ex concord dev gives opinion on Fairgames just for the trolls & knowingly the bad look it would give.

PS & concord is kinda a meme partly because PS porting games to Pc adding fuel to the narrative & PS bending the knee to PSN which all games outside the PS should require no stipulations it doesn’t matter if there’s negative or if Steam/PC users use review bomb to threaten PS PS should not reward these actors & if games like helldivers 2 dies on PC cool PC/Steam is direct competitors to PS PS GAAS should live on PS4, PS5 & if you wanted to extend mobile (iOS/andriod) if a PS GAAS can’t succeed w the 2 PS platform then it’s neither good enough or the budget/scope for these PS GAAS are to large & need to be decreased.

Yes the benefits of it being only on PS (PS4 & PS5 even mobile like iOS/andriod) is that there’s no ccu so concord could’ve failed they could’ve said the game sold well but didn’t meet for long term support or just kept with it for 1 year minimum doing the bare minimum & dropping it atleast there wouldn’t be public ccu. Even on mobile the only numbers people could get is revenue which doesn’t say much.

PS did bet against its own platform/community & I don’t think PS understand how much concord fucked up aswell as dropping PSN make there respect & view by PC dropped like PS looks incompetent & one that could be pushed around to get what they want.

PS/Sony are fafo & unlike PS3 gen yes Xbox console is dead but there’s more competition then ever Xbox new XboxPC hybrid will now play PS singleplayer games & PS GAAS day 1 with no PS+, Nintendo will get almost all 3rd party support day 1 (eventually) XboxPC hybrid due to it being PC will get more 3rd party support so the PS exclusive that PS used to due such as PS & PC (silent hill etc) type exclusive won’t work PS will have to do full permanent exclusive likely better if they just outright acquired like MS/Xbox did w Zenimax & ABK. Steam is getting more support from 3rd party even having multiple exclusive that aren’t on PS publisher like square enix is doing exclusive Steamdeck editions like the FF7 bolstering Valve/Steam console (will likely grow & become more aggressive w these type of deals to push Steam devices/hardware & further bolstering the Steam/Steam storefront ecosystem) not to mention Apple, Netflix, Google, Amazon, Meta, Tencent & Chinese company can get into the PC/Console hybrid handheld getting support from 3rd party & likely taking actions to acquire publishers to bolster its first party.

EA is looking spooky it wouldn’t be surprising if meta, netflix, amazon, apple acquired them & made there games (singleplayer exclusive to there hardware/storefront & leaving GAAS across PS, PC, Nintendo & there own hardware/storefront) this is the future imo & PS is every behind, underpowered & lacking scale & ip/flexibility

Bungie crashing and burning and I love to see it! The only question remaining is will Sony be able to sell it for pennies on the dollar to some other moron or will it just die?

Likely next Destiny 2 expansions outperforms all of them anyway … including Marathon 🤣

Turns out @Puff is right. Xbox and PC gamers will champion the non-PS extraction shooter over the PlayStation extraction shooter simply because Bungie is owned by Sony
This is bullshit sorry. I as a pc gamer prefer what suits me best. I cant give 2 shits about which logo pops up when launching...

Brand loyalty is the saddest thing a gaming adult can get into. No. Its pathetic.

PS hate grifters are a bunch of bums.

I'm sure Marathon will do good
But dat artstyle though......

Like they gave a toddler a bunch of byros and an outlined canvas and they said "Just color between the lines".
I'll give it a go. But gameplay better be rocksolid if i am to forgive the horrid style.

For me it looks like Captain Planet the game rn.

What is Paul talking about?
Same as any other Sony/Bungie hater or green rat, trying to find some excuse to say Marathon is doomed.

Tarkov shown that extraction shooters are a juicy niche with potential. With Marathon seems Bungie wants to try something within the scifi FPS (so they keep their style and continue in their confort zone) that is a pretty different concept and approach than Destiny (so their Destiny fans don't get too alienated thinking it's a Destiny replacement) and at least at the start has a way smaller scope (so the experiment isn't initially too expensive, and if it works, later can be scaled up), so seem to be trying to make that niche more accessible to the mainstream PvP shooter players.

The viewship of the game and gameplay reveal, plus specially their Discord numbers, plus the feedback from non-hater people interested in this type of games, show that the game isn't doomed at all. Sure, they need to complete the game and improve/add/fix some stuff. Normal, because they're in alpha. And who knows, maybe the game will need some extra time after launch (and / or a delay) to continue improving and reach its potential. But the game seems to have a lot of potential and seems that a lot of people is interested on it.

🤷‍♂️ If it's good, people will stick with it. My barometer is always one of the Discord communities I'm in which trends very heavily towards multi-player gaming experiences.

If I see them playing something for more than a week, chances are it's found massive success. Marvel Rivals and R.E.P.O are the two most recent which come to mind for that crew.
