First Descendant was a terrible fucking game that was only championed by gooners because they were angry about "ugly women" in games.

Also, i don't understand what you're yapping about Helldivers 2 for considering over half the sales are on PC (source)

Doesn’t matter where the sales are from. Its ccu metric is not quite middling but middling and has been since its launch. But somehow destiny or Bungie is doomed when anyone who’s tried for the last 10 years, went the way of the dodo.

Is Helldivers really the hot new shit when it can barely compete with Destiny when it’s “dead” on one platform (then when you consider Destiny is on 5 platforms across 4 launchers it’s a much bigger difference).

NOPE

Once again, this is why I have always been anti-CCU, because it doesn't mean a single thing. Who cares if it's "middling" when the overall sales number of the game is PC being over half the total sales and you call that "ain't shit."

That's pretty insane to me.

Then you’re ignoring pertinent information that determines the on-going success of an online multiplayer game where CCU is the most accurate metric of its success and continued investment

CCU is retarded for single player games but for online games it’s the most accurate metric there is.

They lost players over time because of nerfs nobody was asking for, they made several of the harder difficulties easier, they were changing meta way too often for high-level people to care about it.

That's if you ignore the fact the game gets repetitive over time. CCU is destined to die out eventually, Destiny 2's CCU is 43.9k in 24hrs. Helldivers 2 CCU is 34.8k in 24hrs

It's still putting near Destiny 2 numbers out on PC yet you said nothing can touch Destiny 2? (It definitely can) Destiny 2 is nowhere near untouchable and I have 2000 hours on steam alone for that game, not including BattleNET or Xbox. D2 keeps up with their terrible pricing and they will have another player collapse on their hands, stop the dungeon key shit (like they said they would,) and stop charging $100 every single expansion if you want the pass as if that is reasonable.

No one should be forced to give $100 just for the new expansion and the dungeons that come out over the year. It isn't even near worth that amount.

Sounds like a personal problem. Players definitely do spend $100 a year on content. Sure there’s reasons for ccu fluctuations, and some games are just seasonal, but Helldivers since launch hasn’t really done anything notable but collapse at a huge rate. I think it’s here to stay but nothing too crazy.

And to quote myself from this mornings public psn data:

“Destiny is currently #8 for best selling games on ps5 with preorders having launched placing it behind expedition 33 and oblivion (likely cumulative of all content being sold on psn this week) . Older content is tracking 2x in the top 15 best selling for the current sale(s) on psn for the entire collection of old content and final shape itself.“

To have a bigger context, these are their CCU during the last year (peaks are the updates, and the biggest peaks are the most important updates):

I think you meant to say Marathon instead of Destiny, right?

No. Not at all

Edge of Fate ultimate edition also number 1 pre-order on psn. Destiny down to #9 for overall best selling (charting changes daily).

Destiny new expansion preorder just opened last week.

Plus the reception was so good that people are buying the Destiny package to get ready to play the expansion.

Pre-order cosmetics are live too. The last Star Wars cosmetics package was a huge success. An homage expansion and Vader skin has clearly been a huge success too.

The cycle is now complete. They found a way to come out swinging after an ending. It felt like the community was excited and early anectodtal store numbers and everyone being Vader in PvP is kinda telling.

I really thought you meant Marathon so my mistake. Apologies. Was going to ask if Edge of Fate was the upcoming expansion but that gets answered for me below. lol

Okay. That's the June expansion and yeah, that's doing really good.
