They've been doing this for years. One good event and 'Xbox is back, baby!'. It's like a continual cycle, but judging by Xbox hardware sales and stagnating subs, it would seem some are wising up to it.

i think parris is so lost in the sauce that he unironically believes the stuff he says in the moment. He doesn't have the self-awareness to realize that he's contradicting things that he's said in the past, or that he can change momentum on a dime because to him, being with the "in-crowd" in the games media is the truth, so he'll toe whatever line is made to be the talking point of the day. he doesn't care about whether the narrative he spouts is based in fact - he's a clout chaser.

I'm excited for a gears prequel with dom & Marcus but come on that trailer was a cutscene the game probably won't be out for another 5 or 6 years at least
