I remember when a game wasn't available in my country, I had to import it. If those people really really want to play the game, they could import a PlayStation and the game and set a fake PSN account. It's shitty, but at least they would be able to play.

Maybe in a few years Sony will be able to operate in those countries and the players don't have to import anymore.

The requirement is still there.
They also said they would be walking it back though.

I wish people didn't have to go through such roundabout ways just to play games from PlayStation simply because PlayStation doesn't offer support for those countries.

You can change region, but you need to call support for that. Some game purchases and/or trophies may be lost depending on which game IDs are shared across which countries.
Lost purchases are compensated by refunding store credit, of course.

oh, that. that's different and irrelevant, many of those countries will never get PSN support or at least not for a long time. So it still doesn't apply to them.

Also if you do move, you can just create a 2nd AUS account and buy stuff there and still play it on your main account, so yeah once again, completely irrelevant.
