Details on the new Valve game have surfaced online:

Deadlock. Next Valve game. Previously known as Neon Prime, Citadel. Competitive third person hero-based shooter. 6 vs 6 battling on huge map with 4 lanes. Usable abilities and items. Tower defense mechanics. Fantasy setting mixed with steampunk. Magicians, weird creatures and robots. Fast travel using floating rails, similar to Bioshock Infinite.

Basically, fast-paced interesting ADHD gameplay. Combination of Dota 2, Team Fortress 2, Overwatch, Valorant, Smite, Orcs Must Die.Hero design pretty much inspired by Dota universe. Main map references modern steampunk European city (little bit like Half-Life). Initially game had sci-fi elements inspired by Half-Life and Portal, but after bad feedback dev team decided to focus on fantasy.

When it comes to Valve games, it's best to treat any leaks as nothing. Not because they could be fake or anything.
Just that Valve's money making is not tied to making games that they can decide to scrap any project at any point if they don't feel like it's good enough.

Until it's officially announced by Valve, it's vaporware.

More info:

  • Currently in Closed Alpha with hundreds of people playing. This initially included friends and family members of Valve employees, but invites have been spread more widely.
  • Competitive YouTubers have also been invited to play but they are under NDA
  • He's surprised more details haven't leaked before today considering how many people are playing.
  • Announcement is likely imminent

So Valve gets PS exclusives ported over but in return Sony receives nothing from Steam exclusive library and also have to pay a 30% cut of the revenue/margins? When will Sony finally realise they are self-sabotaging themselves.

Typical PC game:

Useless and boring shooter game, like any other available fps on the market.
That's what PCMR with a RTX 4060 do play. Either some shooter, MMO or some Indie MP.
How can any publisher waste their time & resources porting quality games to PC?
I will said again: the buying power of PCMR is only slighter better than Xbox. Counting the discounted CD keys plus folks buying via VPN keys from economically weaker countries. Anyway most of the SP end up on Pirating websites as Torrent.
