For starters because Helldivers 2 didn't release in April
Spoilsport.
I don't know about 10 million copies, but someone estimated the game's cost to be around $50M so the game turned a profit with the 1 million pre-orders alone.
This will be a very profitable AA game based off a new franchise. It's just what the industry needs.
