What's different about this Diablo where it's more "open-world" than D3 is? Random quests in the world or something?
This too, with some "global boss" so players on the server can gather and kill together.
I'm not checking this closely, but it looks like a step up from diablo 3 from the little I saw.

the game is open world. D3 is not open world. it was more like Borderlands, more like open levels, some big, some small.
you even getting a horse. to traverse the world.

Oh believe me, I play a lot of Diablo solo as well. Some seasons I started with the guys, played to the point I was overpowered to play with them, so I've created a different char from start. Then played to reach their damage level and ended up being too overpowered to play with them AGAIN.:ROFLMAO:

Rest assured that the single player portion is deep enough and multiplayer is completely optional.

@Sircaw, already deeply respected you, now knowing you are an old-school Diablo player, I respect you even more. :devilish:

I didn't know D3 was open-world. They talk about D4 being their first open-world game. And the graphics look way better than D3 - they look like D2:R

I mean at the end game you have an entire series of areas you can traverse to, you can walk through the whole world, get missions at 5 different towns.

I'm just curious what is so different about D4 specifically. One giant map that's all connected without boat rides or beating bosses to get through the door?

I guess I get it... you do have to go through the acts in order in D3 if you aren't in the end game, I'm assuming this is more "main storyline + side storylines you can do in a bit different order" kinda thing.
