We believe it's just the servers changing over... It should all settle down over time...I thought the website was down due to a hosting provider error, saw tweets still popping on twitter.
Had to use VPN to get in, is it still accessible from places like the UK?
so see you guys
Site now broken on desktop for 2 days yeah sounds great for the site. I don't use mobile so see you guys
Agreed. Can we get a few details about the new ownership? Is the site owned by an individual or a company and if so, which company? Sorry for the questions but I think it's reasonable to want know who is behind the site.

@chocochoco what country is the new ownership in?
Agreed.
@chocochoco I would also like to know the company or individual behind IconEra. I ask this primarily for safety reasons.
Hi everyone,
We wanted to take a moment to formally introduce ourselves and address some of the questions surrounding the recent acquisition of IconEra.
We are a UAE-based company that owns and manages a number of blogs, and we’ve always been passionate about gaming, tech and online communities. We were lacking an interactive community in our portfolio. Our decision to acquire IconEra was driven by the belief that this forum is something special — a vibrant, respectful, and passionate community that deserves continued support and stability.
We want to be clear: nothing is changing on your end — the same admins and moderators remain in place, and we have no intention of interfering in community decisions or day-to-day operations.
There will be no pop-up ads, no disruption to your experience, and absolutely no sharing of your data or private information. We respect your privacy and are committed to maintaining the safe, inclusive environment that brought you here in the first place.
Our mission is simple: to help IconEra grow as the go-to interactive forum where people can freely discuss games, share ideas, and connect over their passion for the industry. We’re not here to massively overhaul or over-commercialize — we’re here to invest in the platform and support the amazing community that already exists.
We look forward to any suggestions or feedback you guys have. We will try to incorporate it.
We also kindly ask for your patience if any technical issues arise — this forum software is new to us, and we’re still getting used to it.
Thank you![]()
We'd had Yank owners on different forums and their moderation was no different. If it changes its off to Xboxera to discuss Playstation since Xbox are going multiplatform too.Being based in the UAE unsettles me a bit
Makes me nervous about censorship considering the laws there.
I agree, especially for users who belong to the LGBTQ+ community. I really like this forum because you can say your opinion about gaming without being antagonized because of your opinion, but it feels strange to support a site which ownership is based in a region that wants jail or do even worse things to people which are not seen as "normal" or hetero.Being based in the UAE unsettles me a bit

Well, I don't think the tone or moderation is changing much... But if there are any changes, I'll let you guys know.I agree, especially for users who belong to the LGBTQ+ community. Thank you for the update. One last question since I live in the EU, who do we contact for GDPR-related inquiries and requests?

Hello, that all sounds good. Question I have though is that if you purchased this community, obviously you expect an ROI. If you are not going to create pop-up ads, how do you expect to monetize the community to receive a return on your investment?
