I wonder if more people will wake up and realize Phil was never the "savior" of Xbox. He's spent years running it into the ground and now even formerly unrelated developers (eg. Tango) have suffered from the ongoing decline.
This is awful. I can't help but think of the numerous Xbox fans, influencers, media sites, etc. that championed MS' acquisitions. How employees would be treated better, dormant IPs would get new games, developers would have more security, etc. All bullshit and it was as plain as day to anyone...
I don't take that guy seriously any more. He used to be all right, but has gone down the path of warring on Twitter. On a side note, it's amazing how many people are using the "paid online" as a jab now. I haven't heard "cloud saves" as much, but am wondering what else will be added to the...
I haven't had PS Plus for years now. I stopped a couple price increases ago when I noticed they wanted more money for less value. I also buy physical and one of the reasons is Sony's refund policy ie. lack thereof. The refund policy would likely take involvement of external agencies to effect...
I would like to see that push back happen. I don't care who is doing it at this point. Having to create separate accounts simply to play a purchased game is ridiculous. I get that it can provide some benefits in certain cases, but it should always be optional. I first ran into this way back...
I'm not surprised. The moment this started costing Sony money - refunds, the game being delisted in several countries - was when this outcome became inevitable. It's obvious they're going to keep working on PSN integration with their games on PC, but the issue of PSN availability is a big one...
I think the key word here is "healthy". Xbox hasn't been for a long time. Personally, I never had a big problem with Xbox (the Xbone reveal was an issue but they resolved it) until MS decided to buy publishers. That ham-fisted attempt to compel people to their ecosystem was a good look at...
The point wasn't about Nintendo needing power to compete. It's that there are certain games that don't play well or even at all on their present hardware. Those games require a more powerful machine. It's unknown whether the Switch 2 will address this issue, but if it doesn't, then Sony will...
I thought of the points you made regarding another competitor and Nintendo too. I won't completely rule out a new console-maker but have doubts about it actually happening. At this point, a newcomer going up against the well-established Sony or Nintendo just seems unlikely. As for Nintendo...
On a completely separate note, but somewhat related, I wonder just how much PS consoles can slide into irrelevancy now. With Xbox's rapid decline in the console space and Nintendo's status as a hybrid, there really isn't much choice but to go with Sony going forward. If you want a console that...
Considering Steam is offering refunds and the game is being delisted in select countries, it makes me wonder if Valve has been in contact with Sony and already confirmed this.
I'm not sure I agree that this is an incident that could result in the decline of PS. MS, for example, made moves (XBone) that directly impacted their console audience and then were completely tone-deaf in their response (initially). There were also multiple other issues too - a huge one being...
Steam's refund policy came into effect after they lost lawsuits and had to pay millions as a consequence. Here is an example:

They were under fire for a long time for selling broken games, games that wouldn't launch, etc...
I think it's more than a PR blunder. Requiring a PSN login from customers in countries that do not support PSN was short-sighted and, frankly, nonsensical. It will be interesting to see if we get an official response from Sony on Monday and what they will say.
