EA Shoots Down Dead Space 2 Remake Rumors: 'No Validity to This Story' - IGN
EA has shut down rumors that EA Motive considered a Dead Space 2 remake before shelving it due to low sales of the previous game, saying there's "no validity" to the reports.
EA has denied reports that a Dead Space 2 remake was in development before being canceled, with a spokesperson telling IGN, "We don't normally comment on rumors but there is no validity to this story."
Only the original deserved a remake anyway. I was hoping they would go for a completely new Dead Space experience instead of remakes.

Good stop these remakes. What metrics showed you that this game would sell remade. The lack of awareness of the market is crazy at these companys
PS3 is a console, and Xbox would've contributed to the 'poor sales'.
All licenses for these games should be removed from Xbox accounts out of pettiness.

These 7th generation remakes are more likely to bomb because there is not a significant leap in visuals or gameplay.
Older remakes like RE2 and FFVII are more effective in that regard. If studios want to capitalize on remakes they should focus on 5th generation games, as in those cases the ideas were there but tech was not for the most part.

One of my most hated remakes of all time.
I loathed that "tension engine" or whatever, since the game has a lot of backtracking, being surprised all the time by random enemies in already cleared areas sucked ass.
And that's the reason I dropped the game.
Glad I just rented at EA Play and had not bought it.
I would not buy the sequel so it doesn't matter to me.

I loved it lol & being surprised by enemies is awesome since it's a horror game
