PC games published by PlayStation should also require PSPlus to play online.

What features can PSN give me on Steam? How is it fair to pay a subscription? it's baffling how you people think. Steam does it all for free but Sony's games are so special that they require a subscription. lol?
Remember when Xbox games required gamepass on PC? Double standards should not apply. Asking to pay online on PC is dumb. Very dumb.

PS+ has a lot beneficies… if you don’t know them it is really your issue.

Plus it is fair because both userbase will be in the same rules lol

Do you understand the concept of fair at all?
on Steam dude. Steam does it all for me for free, why the fuck would I pay you a subscription?

>It's fair.

We. Are not like you. We are not PS gamers. Your company is bringing a product to sell us, please stop thinking with your heart and use your brain. You pay for PS+ because Sony demands it, PC gamers are not on PlayStation, they don't have to pay anything.

Wouldn't it be fair for both to be free, not forcing others to pay because you choose to?

There's a console for people who don't want to pay to play online, it's called a PC

Tbh, in the current year, no one should pay for online play be it on PC or PS or Xbox.

As said before, imagine what could happen if all those loyal PS gamers united (like Helldivers Steam gamers are uniting now...) and started complaining and demanding Sony stop charging them. But apparently, they are okay with it because that's how Sony makes money.

I'm also fine with it. But I can't help but wonder, porting games to PC and stuff costs time and money, instead of investing that money and time in your console, they use it to bring us your games to PC. Why? Self-sabotage? Surely, it can't be.
Precisely. I think they're naive and initially thought they would sell millions upon millions of each game based on the MAU on steam.

It just didn't materialize that way.

It should but that ship sailed in 2002 when a company started to ask for their online and gamers accepted.

Not sure about that. PS players could have done something around 2014 when paid online launched. Online was free on the PS3. But they kept buying PS so Sony got away with it.

Nothing to do with MS. PS players experienced free online for a whole generation and still decided to pay.

So you could have done something in 2002?

What part that gamers accepted you didn’t understand?

I never had an Xbox. Online was always free on PC with the exception of some subscription based games.

And that's the problem. Accepting. Console gamers accepted and normalized several terrible practices in gaming over the last decades.

Sony gamers should have jumped ship to PC when paid online was announced at the launch of the PS4. They can't whine a decade later because PC gamers get to play some Sony games online for free. It's the nature of the beast on PC.

Luckily for them, most popular online games are F2P and platform holders do not charge for those... yet.

What is your point exactly?

Paywall is already sailed 🤷‍♂️
You are asking people to fight now when they didn’t fight for over 2 decades.

The OP asked for PC players to pay for PS+ on PS games like everybody else… I just said it should be fair.

And I strong think it is fair,

Absolutely true and spot on. "Accepting". It's all about it.

That's why Helldivers 2 PC gamers are revolting now because they are NOT accepting this account bullshit.

if you are okay with whatever big corpo tells you, then yeah, you will pay for online 10+ years later.

But it wouldn't be fair. PS players pay to access all non F2P games online. Not just Sony ones. And also have other perks like cloud saves (can't believe there is a paywall for that ffs) some free games per month and an instant game collection if I am not mistaken. Those extra perks sweeten the deal a bit for console gamers.

Why would a PC gamer pay an online pass for a minuscule selection of games and nothing else? There is no value in that.

PS Plus literally offers thousands of dollars in money value, you pay $80 a year (6,6 dollars a month) and you receive 3/4 games every month that are way more expensive to buy on the store, here are all the games they gave for subscribers in 2023, if you're a subscriber, you'll always have something to play

i don't agree with putting multiplayer behind a paywall, but you can't deny the value of PS Plus, you pay for it, but you also save money on buying a lot of games, i had Alan Wake Remastered, The Callisto Protocol, Evil Dead and COD Black Ops Cold War on my wishlist last year and if it wasn't for Plus i would've easily spent 150+ dollars on these alone, even on sales, the same happened in 2024 so far and we're only in May, i passed on games like Plague Tale Requiem for example the time it was released due to being 30fps only on consoles and played the game for the first time thanks to PS Plus and with the 60fps patch, Immortals Of Aveum is also on my backlog and i haven't purchased it, i have access thanks to my subscription

That 2023 game selection kinda mid tbh. Quite a few of those games were given away on PC on EGS (permanent, not subscription based) PS Plus game selection was better on the PS3 days.

No instant game collection anymore? That had good games for a newcomer to PS.

That's not how Steam gamers think. We buy games and play them when we want. Sure, the subscription model is valid, just not for us. Xbox gamepass is fine, just not on Steam. So again, why would I pay Sony money? (which I will never will)
