Discussion God Of War Ragnarok is PS worst AAA performing PC port only cracking a peak of below 30K (Mega Flop)

Ideally yes, but how that's defined is very muddied by a lot of factors from how something is made and when, what is used to make it, etc Someone with a bias towards a console and more specifically exclusives will point out that more time, money, and resources can be prioritized for a game made...

This gets funnier thinking about how Falcom's Trails of Cold Steel 2 PC port was made by a grand total of 1 person (Durante), a game modder hired by a 3rd party publisher XSeed several years after the game's release on PS3 and Vita and several years before he formed his own porting studio PH3

Discussion God Of War Ragnarok is PS worst AAA performing PC port only cracking a peak of below 30K (Mega Flop)

This is really funny to read as someone familiar with game companies like Compile Heart and Nippon Ichi Software and even early 2010s Falcom Yeah sure they were totally working on PC ports, that's why they hire external porting studios like Engine Software, Ghostlight, and Codeglue several...

Or were idealists who love video games as an art form and want as many people to experience great art as possible, with absolutely no care or interest in things like investors, stocks, profit margins, and the like Long Live multiplats Death to the concept of exclusives

Discussion The real studio Sony needs to buy

No Level-5 should remain independent, and all of you should play Megaton Musashi W: Wired instead. From should also remain independent, and instead all of you should play 3D Dot Game Heroes instead. If anyone on this forum asks for a game publisher to buy out From in the future, you will be...

I trust both Square Enix and Sega, considering they both have a pretty solid output of great games and both companies have promising titles on the horizon. ...Square Enix moreso though.

PC God of War Ragnarok with Neutral reviews on Steam because the game can't run on PCs with less than 6 GB of VRAM (Update: Also because of forced PSN)

As it so happens, I have just discovered the 6GB VRAM requirement was removed by the devs of the port themselves yesterday and is no longer a requirement on the game to launch it. Now, instead they simply offer a warning that players with lower VRAM play at their own risk. @John Elden Ring...

PC God of War Ragnarok with Neutral reviews on Steam because the game can't run on PCs with less than 6 GB of VRAM (Update: Also because of forced PSN)

I don't know, I have a graphics card with 8GB VRAM, so not my problem I am very selective with my purchases purrsonally; God of War Ragnarok is outside my weeaboo realm. Don't really like being called PCMR though; I find the "master race" thing to be kinda gross and something that should be...

PC God of War Ragnarok with Neutral reviews on Steam because the game can't run on PCs with less than 6 GB of VRAM (Update: Also because of forced PSN)

VRAM and RAM are different things. VRAM refers to the memory on the graphics card. RAM is more general temporary storage. And I was wrong, this mod only removes the PSN requirement. If people want to play a game knowing it'll run like garbage they should be allowed to do that, however. I have...
