The Windows license was already paid for by the person you purchased your computer from in the first place. Using your device does not help them, nor do they get money on some per-game basis.

That entire file dump is out of context. We're missing key pieces of ALL of it. Especially the slides. Those were clearly meant to go along with a presentation to contextualize them, and we have none of that.

For one, the drop-off is... really not THAT steep. They may well see it as worth the short-term loss for long-term gain on potential PS Plus sub retention or growth. We can't really make definitive statements with scraps of data.

I dunno, all I remember reading was reports that supposedly this is something Sony said no to. Not saying he took it STRAIGHT to Xbox, but that's why they said yes.
Reportedly, Sony told him "no" on this one and MS said yes both JUST to get a Kojima game and because they think it will help push Cloud somehow.
That being said, this game is still beyond vaporware.
