Sure there is. If anything, I'm glad studios aren't being pressured to rush out their games and/or forced to have something ready for an arbitrary stage show anymore that sometimes requires tricks and fakery to make look better. Let 'em cook as long as they need and drop a great experience.
Because there's no flow to it. All those mocaps they did were just converted into scripted animations that are then summoned by the button presses. The most control you have over the combat is canceling into guard.
