Will we? I don't recall people being QUITE this upset over layoffs. You may recall that Microsoft recently laid off 1900 people, many from Bethesda. There wasn't near as much outrage. Heck, there's not THAT much outrage over Arkane Austin post-Redfall, though people think they deserved another...
They're already poised to kill Ninja Theory. Look how little they're even marketing their game that's like, a week away. Sony has done more to market their PC ports, and those are almost exclusively done through social media posts.
As I recall, he said he wished there was a way people COULD tip devs, voluntarily, if they think they deserve it. That's a fine opinion to have. Not sure what's disqualifying about that one.
Japan Studio games weren't selling, the team was merged into XDEV and Asobi, Asobi and Polyphony are both in Japan and working, Hermen isn't in charge of 3rd party deals, he runs their internal studios.
Hi-Fi Rush wasn't for me. That said, Tango is a great studio, very talented, was told they hit all the metrics for success. They brought Xbox First Party their first non-Forza awards in a hot minute. (They also produced Evil Within 1 and 2, which were great.)
They definitely deserved better...
And the Kong game is especially sad because that developer put out a pretty fine game on their own, but GameMill had them push that game out so busted it's not even funny.

Man, can you imagine what Xbox would have done to Square by now if the fanboys had gotten their way & they bought them? Especially with that string of underperforming games recently?
