For me, the issue is that metrics are used so selectively. Unless most of the important metrics are outlined and the majority positive and negative trends for each game are outlined, they usually are just used to pump up games for investors.
It makes total sense.
New and confirmed negative news or updates would get new threads but unoriginal or retreads of things we have discussed a million times would just get a redirect to here.
What's the big deal? Things get discussed anyway and it doesn't become a million needless threads...
True, the dynamics were very unique this generation.
The pandemic and Xbox having the heater alternative to sell when everything else was unavailable was a boon for the first two years but now is hurting them and limiting their path forward....
They can't possibly release more skus and demand...
With the news that Xbox will stop advertising in Europe and possibly giving up completely on the territory, the end of Xbox hardware could certainly be in sight.
Does this mean that Sony are free to completely control when a generation begins and ends?
Can they extend the PS5 lifespan to 9...
I'm sure official and confirmed news that leans negative will be posted as it's own thread but the amount of unwarranted and repeated negative threads about PlayStation does become tiring.
