You can already tell Activision has been mailing it in for the past few years.
The shocking thing is how long COD has stayed relevant. They make a good game and follow it with years of trash, but they still sell.
Sony making a launcher would just kill the consoles sooner. Hardcore fanboys would join PC, and eventually they'll download Steam.
There is a lot more to PC gaming than power. I wouldn't use a modern console out of principle anymore. They just feel gross.
Do keep in mind though that...
The first part of your post is right. If your an enthusiat with a job, PC is the way to go. It isn't the 90s anymore and you aren't a child.
1. You not personally, but I see plenty people doing so.
2. I personally don't care, but see your response to 1 above.
3. Consoles are dyingand mostly...
I have an original model PS1 with the audio out and gameshark port.
All consoles are anymore are budget PCs for couch play.
Cross over shouldn't be that big.
How is it ruining the performance? Do you mean game performance in general? That's more of an industry wide issue now. Mostly due to crunch and budgets.
As far as time, not really. It's all scalable. Convert it to the different API and add some nice bells and whistles.
The real threat is...
The funny thing is you'd be trading Hitler for Stalin.
Apple will for sure go that route. No one knows how to milk their consumers better than apple.
If anything I can see this just effecting the casual markets. The implications of this won't be felt right away, but I think linux will grow...
Nothing personal man, just saying what I'm observing.
Yeah, Microsofts greed knows no bounds. Hopefully we can move PC to a completely free and open platform.
This will the the most interesting GOTY since 2017 as we don't have an absolute blowout.
My money is on BG3. TOTK's momentum seems to have died pretty quickly, which going into this year I was sure they would win it.
No one on PC is asking for the games they have brought. We just want Demon's Souls and Bloodborne.
You guys bring up Alyx in every VR thread. You guys were expecting it as a launch title for PSVR2.
I personally don't care about Sony's games, or I would have bought a PS5. Of course it's pretty...
You're forgetting that the PS store and ecosystem is complete garbage and couldn't compete in an open market.
But if they try then perhaps it will get better for you console kids.
Microsoft makes no money on games sold on Steam.
Valve is doing a lot of gaming on Linux. Other than VR and console multiplayer games (COD, etc), linux is a perfect alternative to windows.
If the rumors about 12 are true, we may see PC transition away from microsoft. Hopefully.
Quit crying and just buy a PC. You'd save yourself a lot of time and anguish.
Also lmao. PS gamers are jelly of Steam.
Either buy a PC or quit crying. It's getting old.
Playstation sold well back when they barely made any games of their own. People bought PS1s for MGS, FF, Crash, Resident Evil, etc.
They are the defacto home console. The only thing that would hurt playstation is if consumers decide they don't want traditional home consoles.
That job offering is for their store fronts on Steam and EGS.
You'd need at least 100 people for a PC storefront and launcher.

Lmao Epic doesn't even have store fronts yet.
