Kind of wild to think the by 2013 all three companies would use blu ray.
Nintendo actually started before Microsoft with the Wii U in 2012 and then the Xbox One would also use Blu ray in 2013 with the Xbox One and still does for the Xbox Series X.

Do you guys think PS6 will have a Blu ray drive as an option or will it be 100% digital only? The PS Sextuple be $699 in 2028. 700 Dollars ain't shit to Chad Warden!

I think it'll be an option. There are still regions in which not having a drive as an option will cost them some revenue, not to mention they would open themselves up to regulatory scrutiny.

They can simply make choosing this option as a physical choice you have to make and many will simply opt against it. Whereas if there is a 100 or even 50 dollar choice between the two, it's easy to say, just get the one that comes with the drive versus go out and buy a drive separately.

It's pretty simply psychology, but also why everyone is losing their mind that the PS5 Pro doesn't come with a drive, even though the drive is optional.

It will have a drive for something, probably the same type of online activated plug-in thing they put in the PS5 revision.

20 years ago? Man I didn't know it was this long time ago!

And yes hopefully so will the PS6/PS6 Pro use Blu-Ray if Sony etc. isn't working on something new and better than Blu-Ray.
