U.S. Children Say They Want Video Games More Than Anything Else This Holiday Season
The Entertainment Software Association Shares Recommendations for Parents to Help Keep Families Safely and Responsibly Enjoy Video Games The Entertainment […]www.theesa.com
You have a point in that they won't be fully accurate but I would say to view them as somewhat directional...These stats are worthless. They polled 500+ people. So out of the hundreds of millions of people in the U.S., about 375 people want a console. Come on man. LMAO

About the Survey Methodology
These are some of the findings of an Ipsos poll conducted between September 20-October 6 2023 on behalf of the Entertainment Software Association. For this survey, a sample of 500 adults age 18-65 and a sample of 501 children ages 10-17 (recruited through their parents) from the continental U.S., Alaska, and Hawaii was interviewed online in English. The survey sample was designed to be nationally representative using quotas for age, gender and region, with targets from the U.S. Census. Statistical margins of error are not applicable to online non-probability polls. All sample surveys and polls may be subject to other sources of error, including but not limited to coverage error and measurement error. Where figures do not sum to 100, this is due to the effects of rounding. The precision of Ipsos online polls is measured using a credibility interval. In this case, the poll has a credibility interval of plus or minus 5.4 percentage points for both adults and children surveyed.
You're so predictable, they would be the best stats according to you if it was about gaming subscriptions. But this time you gave us a little nugget into your current thinking.
You accidentally revealed to us that you think Xbox as console is dead, even in the US.
500 sample is enough if there is a good methodology behind.
It is will give you ~5% margin of error that is pretty good for these type of statistics.
Edit - Actually the sample is 1006 (505 adults + 501 kids) with a 6.2% margin of error.
Do you know how estática works?Even at 1006 people, that's still nothing. When they survey at least 1m people and 760,000 say they want a console, then okay, maybe it will mean more but 1000 people. Come on.
Gaming Subscriptions IS the best FOR ME. I don't care what it is for others. And if the polling was only 1006 people, I would say the exact same thing - it's meaningless, pointless and proves absolutely nothing. GAME PASS IS what Microsoft and Xbox is built around gaming wise. It's not a console or PC. It's GAME PASS.
Yep, the Xbox console is dead. Wait, what's that box I keep playing my games on? Oh that's right, it's an Xbox Series X. LMAO. I love all the people who think Xbox is dying because they're going everywhere which they already started doing over a decade ago and yet, they're bigger and better than ever. Even better is the fact that somehow people actually believe that locking everything down to a console with let's just say for Xbox would be 50m sales at best is somehow better than not only being available for those who want the console (like me) but also by being everywhere else which targets those who aren't going to buy the Xbox console regardless of what Microsoft does. Microsoft is literally going to be if they're not already the biggest and most dominant gaming company in the gaming industry yet people actually believe that with everything they own and have, they're somehow going to die. LMFAO
I should've made my post more comedic, so the intention was clear.
Please take of yourself. It's just games, we play them to have fun. You just slipped up.
Xbox isn't dead, they just had record sales on ps5 according to Nadella. They invested so much they are here to stay certainly as publisher.
The console war has ended let's bury the hatched, smoke and play on games (xbox or not) on the most powerful console ps5 pro.
Take a course in statistics omg this is painful to readThese stats are worthless. They polled 500+ people. So out of the hundreds of millions of people in the U.S., about 375 people want a console. Come on man. LMAO
Nah. Kids onyl want fortninte + roblox laptops. Or rgb gaming pcs which will have no use other than fnaf, fortnite and robloxKids will always want games consoles nothing new.
