If what I've been told is true, Assassin's Creed Infinity will be quite focused on microtransactions, with a monthly subscription (a bit like GamePass) which will give access to all the old AC games (not sure about the new ones), future DLCs, one exclusive skin/item per month, etc. It wouldn't be surprising when we see how much Ubisoft has made most of the paid skins on Odyssey and Valhalla, but this would be worse..."

Heavy focus on microtransactions
The subscription will give access to old AC games (he is unsure about new ones), future DLC, and one exclusive skin/item per month

If true this is so dead 😂

To me it's about the delusion: people are not subbing to game pass or PS Plus EA, UBISOFT+ but publishers and devs think assassin's Creed is so good that gamers are going to suscribe to this very specific AC subscription.

These folks really overrate how good their games are.

Ubisoft bean counters real dumb.

Regardless of anyone's feeling on the latest AC games, it's undeniable that Origins/Odyssey/Valhalla were extremely profitable games. With Valhalla being the first AC to generate more than a billion dollars.

Mirage being a smaller affair and initially selling as good as Oringins/Odyssey in multiple market at launch, will also be extremely profitable.
AC Red is literally the feudal Japan setting people have been asking for more than a decade at this point, it's almost a guaranteed money printer.

Your formula works, in fact, it's one of the very few things actually working at your company besides Rainbow Six Siege.
Why are you trying to re-invent the wheel?

Smh...
