It already works natively.Yes but what about PS1?
Really?It already works natively.
PS2 emulation is already on PS5.
I can play Wild Arms 3 via emulation.
So these dumb leakers have no ideia of what they are talking about… the PS2 emulation was created on PS4 and there is over 50 titles running via PS2 emulation.
If at all they will it for more titles
Native wasn't the right word. Yeah there is an emulator for ps1. Should have said locally.Really?
I only have Wild Arms 3… it works fine with the same bugs as running on PS4 (it runs as PS4 on PS5).Thats for the ps4 and its very buggy with a ton of frame rate issues, Ape Escape 2 doesnt even work on ps5 and the Jak games have a ton of frame drops.
They already have a PS1 emulator (as they do for a PS2 emulator)... it's just that you can't put your disc in the machine and play a game you already have.Yes but what about PS1?
Not sure what you mean, maybe the PS2 has PS1 backward compat. It already works natively.
Sony already has a PS2 emulators.
PS5 already emulates PS1, PS2, PSP and PS4, and PS4 already emulates PS1, PS2 and PSP.
We saw job offers to work on emulators. They may improve these PS1, PS2 and PSP emulators for PS4 and PS5, may be working on a PS Vita one or may be porting them to PC and mobile.
Yep. But well, at least -as happens with many PS1/PS2/PS3/PSP titles- we have several Vita games remastered/remade for PS4/PS5, adding stuff like extra resolution, trophies, framerate, adapted controls etc. Many of them are in the store or the PS+ Premium sub.Hopefully we also get Vita emulation
Very likely not. The most likely is that they will simply update their existing PS1, PSP and PS2 emulators or port them to PC or mobile. Or may use a better emulator for future PS1/PS2/PSP games they may add.Sooo... Does this mean I'll be able to play my physical PSX and PS2 discs on my PS5 soon?
PS3 emulation in PS4 or PS5 won't happen, it's technically impossible according to the main programmer of the best PS3 emulation in PC and a main Insomniac/ICE Team programmer who worked in the main PS3 Sony game engine. We've also heard this for PS3 a couple of times now, so I'll only believe it when I see it, but it would recover some faith in the current heads of PlayStation.
I bought a few PS2 games on PS4 & they all run fineThey might as well be working on a new PS2 emulator because the previous one is certainly trash.
