They should do something about the gameplay then, because AitD didn't age well.

Gameplay probably changed a lot because the it is really remake if you look at the screens... I believe it is impossible to have the same gameplay with the new Engine.

To people understand this was Alone in The Dark was the creator of a genre basically... Resident Evil games should not exists without it or Silent Hill.
Plus it has two movies already.

There are 7 games (3 main games, e spin-offs and 1 remake).

  • Alone in the Dark (1992)
  • Jack in the Dark (1993)
  • Alone in the Dark 2 (1993)
  • Alone in the Dark 3 (1994)
  • Alone in the Dark: The New Nightmare (2001)
  • Alone in the Dark (2008)
  • Alone in the Dark: Illumination (2015)

Below the evolution over time maxed on PC.

A Remake can preserve gameplay, and if the developers chose to, they could reproduce the original gameplay in a new engine.

I don't consider that a remake to be fair.
Upgrade in graphics (aka new engine) is basically what remasters do.
But that is me.
