AC was always more of a niche title, but I suppose that they expected more given that they have gained massive popularity and success since the days of the previous game in the series.

Who would have thought? A niche franchise not selling Elden Ring numbers! For all the talent these guys have at coding they seem to lack awareness and common sense. This what happens when you make business decisions listening to enthusiasts on Reddit, era and stuff...

"Bring armored core back" "Crash is the dark souls of platformers" and other nonsense.

It still makes sense for them to diversify their line up outside of souls games now that they’re looking to self publish.

Can’t survive on one genre alone, and elden could have very well been a fluke. Who’s the say their next post-elden ring game won’t sell more in line of dark souls?

Kodakawa isn’t really a good fit for from. To reach the next level they need ps. Idc what anyone says but there games are dated graphically and they really need to push some innovation. From isn’t good at narrative storytelling either. Before anyone comes at me I’ve been a from fan since ps1 when I got armored core 1 on a demo disk. But the charm of their games have started to wane. I tossed Elden ring in the back log after a hours and passed on AC6 day 1. If studios and publishers want my day 1 money they better wow the Fck out of me and DS3 was the last From game that did that.

Its more that the profit sharing between bamco and kadokawa for overseas sales are crap towards them

More than 2 years to release the first DLC? I guess it’s going to be huge.

For an AC title I thought it had great mindshare, if anything it outperformed my expectations. Sorry the team doesn't seem to agree.

Mmm they still have a lot of physical copies in stock here in Ireland and they are on sale.

I think they assumed the From name would result in much more sales from Souls fans and the expanded audience from EldenRing... doesn't always pan out that way though.

I'm going to buy it later, but Sony should take FromSoftware off Kadokawa's hands if they're not happy.

Elden Ring DLC should be massive, judging by the time they are taking, rivaling the Witcher 3 expansions.

They always knocked it out of the park with DLC.

Armor Core franchise was always niche and came with a somewhat cult following. To expect AC 6 to do big numbers closer to Elden Ring is a stretch because Elden Ring's sales were the result of an accumulation of their Soul games growing bigger and bigger with each release.

I think AC6 did better than the others but i don’t think its been monumentally bigger than the others in the franchise like they thought.

Maybe they were hoping for dark souls like numbers
