Being 2 gargantuans just released with Spiderman and Mario has that in anyway diminished your interest in getting Alan Wake?

If Alan had released any other time I would have got it but due to my backlog and focused on Spiderman and lords of the Fallen (then I'm buying Mario) I won't be getting it soon.

Alan Wake is in a bad spot. Should’ve delayed the release into late winter post holiday even if they didn’t need to IMO.

BUT… not everything needs to be a major tentpole open world blockbuster or actually even cater to the same kind of players. I’d consider Alan Wake a bit more niche in appeal. 3 million would make it a considerable success but I’m not expecting it to do RE4 numbers either. Hope to be proven wrong.

Remedy has been weird for me. I absolutely adored both Max Payne 1 and 2. Haven’t seen much of what they’ve done since. Maybe a dozen hours of control but it didn’t grab me like Max Payne. I’ll try to give AW1 a shot again too since we got it as a ps plus drop. I hope they all grow on me but I hope they one day and somehow return with a max Payne sequel outside of the remake project.

Yeah I would have pushed it's release to a more dry gaming month even if it's pushed off by just a month, it makes a difference.

No, I'm actually more interested in Alan Wake II than Spiderman, the problem is that on pc is on Epic Store and on Playstation we don't have regional prices so it's quite expensive here.

It's a tough one for me, i absolutely loved Control one of my favourite games of all time but i really disliked Alan wake. The gameplay was so tedious and bad, it really soured me on the alan wake franchise.

Might wait for it to go on discount

I’m not their audience in the first place but it definitely doesn’t help to launch next to two massive games like that. I’m satiated, content, and don’t have any extra hours in the day for another game.

Coming in at the beginning of October would have been better.

No physical is a day one killer. But yes those games makes the decision to delay the digital purchase infinitely much easier. I already have Spider-man 2 on a backlog if you can believe it, and right after that Mario Wonder, then I'll prob have a couple weeks open till Avatar Frontiers of Pandora.
