Black Myth: Wukong has been delayed for Xbox Series X/S. Pre-orders for the PS5 and PC versions have launched ahead of the game's release in August.

Chinese developer and publisher Game Science has delayed the Xbox Series X/S version of Black Myth: Wukong.

We are currently optimizing the Xbox Series X|S version to meet our quality standards, so it won’t release simultaneously with the other platforms,” the company said on Friday.

We apologize for the delay and aim to minimize the wait for Xbox users. We will announce the release date as soon as it meets our quality standards.”

It is the first time for Game Science to release a console game globally, and we are currently facing limitations in offline resources required for the import, export, transportation, distribution, and sales of physical discs. These factors have made it difficult for us to sell physical discs simultaneously with the official release of the game.

Our publishing team is actively working on resolving these issues and exploring options to offer physical discs.

At least they didn't use any bullshit excuses like Remedy AND it seems like they are working on solving the issues they are facing.

Because of that exactly. Xbox Series S is hindering development. And the game will sell terribly on Xbox. An extra year of development for a platform that will sell the least. Sony has all the leverage. They can incentivize studios to solely focus on PS5, get the game out early for the platform where it'll sell best, and then port it to Xbox/PC later. But they couldn't even do that much.

If they did, we'd have ff9 remake and KH4 by now. And probably that Metaphor game as well
