I just finished the Resident Evil Three remake, and all I can say is that it is a fantastic game.

DMC 5 keeps selling, shame the sequel is not coming out any time soon.

Ace Attorney Trilogy remaster continues to do very well in terms of sales, 3M is no small feat for such a game even if it came out years ago. Curious to see what kind of opening quarter Apollo Justice Trilogy is going to do.

RE games continue to have great back catalogue sales.

Notably absent still is Exoprimal which has yet to break the 1M barrier to get unto the list.
A pretty expensive flop(going by the leak) for Capcom after a series of W starting all the way back in 2017.

How crazy is is that Horizon Zero Dawn sold many millions more than Resident Evil? Blows my mind, to me Resident Evil is one of the strongest IPs in gaming. Horizon Zero Dawn is also in the same ball park as the best selling Monster Hunter game.

PS4 Ratched and Clank, Bloodborne and Days Gone all sold about as well as the best Devil May Cry 5 (that was a huge success compared to previous titles).

When idiots try to play down the importance of single player games for PlayStation they have no idea what they are talking about.

I remember when people said changing to first person killed the franchise.

In fact RE7 opened a new life for the franchises (yeap new fans)… all titles after it have sales better than previous titles.

Of course there are some weird games like REmake 3 but that was more about misdirection with Capcom going cheaper and not working to do a proper remake than the game being bad.

Those RE7, RE2 Remake, ands RE3 remake sales do include rereleases, you might not of noticed because Capcom just lumps all versions of RE7, RE2 Remake, RE3 remake, RE8 Village, and RE4 Reamke together.

RE7 sales include the sales for the original release on PS4, Xbox One, and Steam back in January 2017.
But it also includes the Gold Edition release, the Switch Cloud Version, Amazon Luna version, Stadia, and next quarter will include the Mac, Ipad, and Iphone release of RE7 as that released on July 2nd, 2024 and this is sales up to June 30th, 2024

So those RE7 sales include 6 different releases of the game: PS4, XB1, Gold Edition, Steam, Switch Cloud, Amazon Luna, and Stadia
and soon Mac, Iphone and Ipad will be included in those sale making it a total of 10 different SKUs in total of RE7 if you don't include the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S patch as a different version.

For what ever reason Resident Evil 5 Gold Edition isn't included in that 9.20 Million number of the original Release of RE5.
RE5 on PS3, 360, and Steam: 9.20 Million (Might include not include steam, the Capcom website doesn't include it so we don't know for sure)
Gold Edition on PS3 and 360: 2.40 Million
RE5 PS4/XB1: 3.20 Million
That totals to 14.80 Million with just 5 or 6 platforms

Another thing that helps current RE games is the fact PS5 and Xbox Series are BC with PS4 and Xbox One making giving a much more prolounged life for RE7, RE2, and RE3 remakes that previous RE titles didn't get.

RE8 and RE4 Remake all got Mac, iPad, and iPhone 15 pro last year, RE7 got ports in July of this year.

It will happen within the next three years most likely. The Switch version of RE5 will probably make RE5 the first RE game to hit 15 million when it eventually hits 1 million but RE2 remake will most likely hit it not too long after and top it. RE7, RE8, and RE4 Remake will also outsell RE5 down the line as well.
