Call of Duty players on Steam are upset over Activision's decision to take down Mod H2M which was made to allow them to play 2009's Modern Warfare 2 Multiplayer experience with better visuals using Modern Warfare Remastered.
According to several reviews, Activision put Modern Warfare Remastered on sale earlier this week while knowing about the awaited launch of Mod H2M. Thus, the game climbed up the Steam charts and dominated the top-selling list. It became the fourth best-selling game on Steam ahead of the mod's anticipated release.
However, after making record sales for the game via Steam, the publisher took down the mod for no apparent reason as it still required the base game of Call of Duty Modern Warfare Remastered through a purchase on Steam; this meant more earnings for Activision.
