Would you believe It’s been over two years since Crytek announced a new Crysis game was in development? I can’t believe it either, though that may be due to the lack of news. They did have an announcement earlier this year, seeking to hire more developers on the project, but it’s been pretty quiet outside of that. Well, we don’t have much to share on that front either, but for anyone wondering, the project is still in development.
Speaking to MP1st in a chat regarding Crytek’s Hunt: Showdown, David Fifield, General Manager of the studio, has provided a very brief update on the project.
Alright, last set of questions. I know we should stick to Hunt Showdown, but our readers won’t forgive us if we don’t ask about Crysis 4. What’s happening there? It’s been over a year since we last heard from it.
David Fifield: Crysis 4 is currently still in development and we have a great team working on it! We will update once we have more details on it down the line.
I know it’s not much to go on, but it’s still good news for all those Crysis fans out there.
As for when we’ll see it, that’s anyone’s guess. It may have been two years since the development announcement, but that’s not a lot, especially for a title that many would consider a major one. Not to mention all the technological advancements we’ve had since Crysis 3 dropped over a decade ago.
Not to put pressure on the studio, but I’m sure many are looking forward to seeing just how far they can push visuals, as Crysis 1, even to this day, is regarded as one of the most realistic games. I know some aspects have aged, but it’s still quite impressive for a game from 2007
