Cuphead receives Xbox exclusive anniversary update

An Xbox exclusive update for Cuphead is now available to celebrate the game's sixth birthday.

The goal was to make this update feel like a real peek behind the scenes at what went into bringing the game to life, across all parts of development."

Not releasing their game on PS is their decision and it is fine.
After release the game and not release the update/DLC looks dumb imo but it is still their decision.

I will never buy games from these type of developers imo.

TBF it isn't coming out on Switch either and we know PS, Switch & PC carried Cuphead to any sort of major relevance.

A really dumb update to gatekeep to a single platform, especially the least popular for the game.

Boneheaded move and dumbass reasoning. Xbots were the only ones who *could* show support from day 1 because Microsoft anticompetitively paid money to make the game exclusive i.e. keep it off Playstation. I'd be very surprised if the Xbox sku was the highest selling after all this time.

To be fair, they apparently presented to Sony when all they had was a boss rush and they decided to shop around to other platforms when Sony said that wasn’t enough. Microsoft was so desperate that they cut them a cheque to actually make a game, not just one short mode, and it took them a ridiculous amount of time to finish it, on the condition it be exclusive.

Honestly, it wouldn’t surprise me if MS had forced a clause on them that it wasn’t ever allowed on Plus as part of the deal.

Eh kinda disagree, cuphead was one of the only reasons that made me play on xbone, all my friends played it on xbox.

So apparently cuphead (I've not actually played it) got an anniversary update that's exclusive to Xbox the update isn't anything major but can you guys imagine the meltdowns if it got an update for playstation / switch & not Xbox
