Destiny 2: Frontiers reveal next week

9/9 celebrates the 10 year anniversary for Destiny.

This week’s blog post has confirmed that alongside a small celebration event in-game, a developer insight article will be released discussing the future of Destiny 2; currently codenamed Frontiers.

At the same time next week, we’re also planning to start our journey into Destiny 2 - Codename: Frontiers. At 8AM PT, we’ll be releasing a short Dev Insight blog article discussing our goals for the future of Destiny. Destiny 2 Game Director Tyson Green and Destiny 2 Narrative Director Alison Lührs will be guiding the conversation. Where have we been, where are we now, and where do we want to go? Most importantly... how are we going to get there? We want to be clear about our commitment to ongoing communication with you. This marks the beginning of regular updates from our development team about what's next for Destiny 2, including details about its systems and future plans. While the updates may be a bit rough around the edges as they are early in the development process, we're excited about sharing our goals and progress with you.

Hopefully we see a mention of Destiny 3 or new spin offs or maybe the mobile game receiving a PS port if Sony wants to get some form of value that Destiny mobile game will have a PS port just like PS does w Hoyoverse mobile game does. If this Destiny mobile game is only available on mobile or mobile & pc that would be a slap on the face & further bolstering PC/Steam

Well at least now I won't need to correct everybody that thought that Final Shape was the last Destiny 2 update

Maybe the "final" in the name made people guess it was the end.

There’s leaked plans and some information known from Jason and Paul.

- No longer calling dlc expansions but content packs.

- we will in fact be going to new galaxy and new locations not yet existing.

- instead of an expansion and 3 to 4 seasons a year. It’ll just be two seasons to a year. (Could actually help narrative to narrow focus tbh)

- dungeon pass and paid battlepass will still be the mts

- the first half will have story dlc, raid, new zones etc… shadowkeep sized. Second half new gimmicks like onslaught or 30fh anniversary pack.

- all seasonal content will be free. Dungeons will be sold as well season pass like it is. Game is actually building a bit more into free to play for some things.

Seems like a wholesale rework is coming after episode 3 and alongside Marathon. An engine update should be expected (as well as another content vault).
