"I'm not gonna put my heart and soul into a mod for a game as mediocre as this"

One of the Skyrim Together developers has taken to the project’s dedicated Discord server to tell everyone how the short-lived project came to be. Cosideci explains that they were so excited about the idea for Starfield Together that they spent launch day and beyond reverse-engineering the space RPG and porting over gameplay hooks from Skyrim to get a co-op mod together.

It wasn’t until they ported about 70% of Skyrim Together’s revered code to the Starfield project, though, that they bumped into a problem: “This game is fucking trash.”

“I didn't realize this until after I actually started playing the damn game a week after launch,” they say. “The game is boring, bland, and the main draw of Bethesda games, exploration in a lively and handcrafted world, was completely gone.

“Anyways, everyone already knows this, most people agree. There's no need to further repeat the point, just read any of the dozens of reviews online. That said, I won't be continuing development on Starfield Together. I'm not gonna put my heart and soul into a mod for a game as mediocre as this.”

Well yeah ... if you just play the game and don't care about console battles or rooting for some kind of outcome, it was plainly obvious the game is a steaming turd. Nothing good about it really. Kind of a shame in a way, but ... 🤷‍♂️

It's been the game of the generation... for PlayStation.

This game single-handedly proved that MS aren't on the same level, and there's no reason to invest in that platform.

It also puts in context the whole Zenimax sellout : the owners knew their future output was very bleak (redfail lol).

Cut your losses and port to every screen possible will be their new strategy.

Watching the TGA, everytime they showed the game it was so jarring, it looks a gen behind. Anyone in the know also can see through the cherry-picked review scores.

It's over, bury it.

Skyrim broke Beth. They remade that game so many times that they ended up not pushing themself as a developer to do something different.
The days where Bethesda had all those devs and marketing and leadership all under one roof making something revolutionary like Skyrim are done, never to return.

For people to keep modding there has to be a reason for it.
Talk about baiting. I didn't even comment in this thread and you are calling me out??

This is the kind of shit that derails threads..
Well there you are, no @ mention or anything.

But Frozone/VFX said Starfield is the pinnacle of gaming 🤡

16k playing Starfield vs 18.5k playing Skyrim on Steam 😬
There are still many people playing it it seems.

But yeah... if the game is no good people will feel used when they work this much for it to have the basics in place, they may as well install UE5 and build a good game on their own.

A mod made a thread about this on Era which is funny as hell. Seems it got locked. People were really emotional about this in that thread

Didn't Phil Spencer claim this game had 12 million players? Where are these supposed "12 million players"

Judge was about to close the thread but when he realized a fellow mod created the thread he changed his mind immediately 😅
Judge that roasted COD on stage?

Anyway, like how can you be surprised.

The game look like a pre-2016 game that requires 3080-above to get consistent 60fps at 1080p. The "open world" is just a bunch of levels sticked together. No way in hell this gonna turn into another Skyrim, this thing is as modifiable a Mercedes-Benz car while the interior and engine as shite and power hungry as those elementary Nissan sedans

If anythinf they actually regressed. Bethesda is forever stucked in 2000s while people moves on.
