Isn't it weird that two of the three big gaming companies don't seem to fully embrace the idea that their game portfolio is their biggest platform asset?I never had any faith in them handling this stuff well, Sony is terrible at this stuff and seems like that's going to be the case forever. It's almost unbelievable that a multi billion dollar company is run like this.
There's plenty of great tech out there for them to provide a great experience with minimal investment but they genuinely couldn't care less.
Nintendo shows that the most valuable asset a gaming company can have are established legacy IPs yet Sony doesn't give a shit, they will either pretend they don't exist or introduce people to their old games in the worst way possible.
It’s trash and disappointing, they did great with PS1 emulation idk why they’re so lazy with PS2
Depends of what you expect from a emulator. It’s trash and disappointing, they did great with PS1 emulation idk why they’re so lazy with PS2
I'm not surprised by anything anymore, I don't think these companies are on top of their game and they might not even understand what their business is about.Isn't it weird that two of the three big gaming companies don't seem to fully embrace the idea that their game portfolio is their biggest platform asset?
That is what they get for not having a long term plan or a universal solution that they refined over time. Sony should have a dedicated team for legacy support that would also communicate/engage with the public and be in charge of solving licensing issues. This constant pivot from the journalists...
They want all these classics back, and demand them to be done right away, and when they do drop, they get mad if it doesn't have trophies (which was always optional), or if it isn't able to do 4K, 60 FPS like the Xbox classics.
And, on top of that, you have the purists who would be offended that the xyz game isn't in its original format 100%.
the PS1 games like Syphon filter are scaled to 4k, but Sly Cooper is 480p. Yes I want 4k or at the bare minimum 1080p. In 2024 that's not asking for a lotDepends of what you expect from a emulator.
For example the only issue I had in the games I played in PS2 emulator on PS4 were the bugs... like you are doing something and it crashed.
The rest the games played and looked very faithful to the original (that is what emulators should focus).
But maybe you want enhancement things with the emulator... better graphics, more resolution, different filters, etc.
I'm not sure how it is the PS2 emulation on PS5 but on PS4 except for the game by game bugs the emulation was very good.
