It's really simple. Goal: Erode competition strengths.

You wouldn't see so many hit pieces if PSVR offered full PC support. That as a byproduct, DF is profiting from the clickbait nature of the headlines is the ultimate agenda win win.

Whether it's OP, or some other OP, there will always be someone giving them mindshare, and they count on it.

More to come. There is an "open" platform with a lot of billion/trillion dollar stakeholders who do not like nor welcome their platform being left behind, or that is to say, to look less desirable among consumers relative to the new hot toys in town. Money, that is, someone's pocket, will always be the bottomline.

Yes.

It will sell to enthusiasts, but it will never reach mass market appeal.

The same is true for almost every VR headset in the market right now, let alone one priced higher than the base hardware required to run it.

Define Mass Market in your terms, right now.

It'll make it easier to track your goalpost moving on this if we nail it down today.

The greater video gaming market that plays games casually or semi-competitively. It's pretty simple terminology.

It'll be lucky if it reaches less than half of Kinect's lifetime sales.
the thing its

this thing have more future and good games than kinecty
this thing its just added value to the playstation ecosystem and its optional, kinect damaged the xbox so bad that they are still suffering from that
and last but not less importat, sorry losers like you will shout from the roofs the marvels of vr if this were a xbox thing
as usual you arernt fooling anyone, playstations users have the option to enjoy vr if they wish, you have fucking nothing, just the sore losers corner to cry and feel miserable

If PSVR2 reaches mass market it will be a first for VR devices.

It has the potential to sell 10 million and that is pretty great… and with a big plus Sony will probably be the only player making profit from VR.

Wouldn't take advice on "mass market appeal" from a fan of xbox. js

I've been a PS4 owner for 8~ years. PSVR never interested me, and it has sold barely 5m in its life time, clearly it didn't interest almost 96% of the rest of PS4 owner-base either.

It definitely has more potential than PSVR1 did owing to the easier to manage hardware. But the price point and lack of a killer-app the caliber of HL Alyx in the launch period is killer. The entire slate of launch period games, including Horizon, seem like the kind of typical gimmick games you see people enjoying in Dave and Busters.

I’m not sure what are you looking at…

PSVR2 launch lineup is the best any VR device ever had… there are killer apps not found any place else like GT7 Full VR, REVIII VR, HCM, etc.

Which other VR ever had so strong launch lineup? Quest 2 launch lineup was laughable.

GT7, RE Village are not VR killer apps, they're already existing games with VR bolted onto their existing assets.

When I say a VR killer app, I mean a game like Alyx that cannot be done without it. Call of Mountain is a glorified climbing simulator based on most of the reviews, and it feels more like a proof-of-hardware game more than anything else at this point.

Better have than not just saying

Sure. At least Sony are bringing it to a more eager console audience.

PSVR sold 5m, if this sells 10, 15m that'd be a big success for them.

So you have no ideia what is a killer app.

I have an idea, my idea also matches what you can find by simply googling the phrase very closely. I don't know if it matches your idea.
Nah you have no ideia.

You can’t play neither GT7 VR or REVIII VR in any others place except PSVR2… you have to buy a PSVR2 to play them… the very definition of killer app.

Your exemple for example Alyx is available to all PC VR devices so it is not a killer app… it should be if Valve made it exclusive to Index.

sigh ...

GT 7 and RE Village are existing games with VR add-on bolted onto them.

Yes, you can not play GTT VR without PS VR, you get 100% points for stating the obvious.

That is not what a killer app is.

You used to be a good poster man, the posters here have really dumbed you down to their level.
