Diablo IV is an upcoming action role-playing game developed and published by Blizzard Entertainment.
Set in the Diablo series' world of Sanctuary, Diablo IV takes place following the aftermath of Diablo III: Reaper of Souls. Cultists have summoned the main antagonist and daughter of Mephisto, Lilith. After the events of previous games, the forces of demons and angels have been depleted, allowing an opening for her to establish power in Sanctuary.

Character classes :

  • The Barbarian, which appears in Diablo II and Diablo III, has the ability to switch between weapons while in combat.
  • The Sorceress, returning from Diablo II, is an elemental mage-type character wielding fire, cold, and lightning magics.
  • The Druid, returning from Diablo II, can shapeshift between human, werewolf, and werebear forms, and possesses earthen and storm magics.
  • The Rogue, returning from the first game, is a quick-moving combatant that alternates between bladed melee or ranged combat with a bow.
  • The Necromancer, returning from Diablo II and Diablo III, utilizes dark magic for summoning and attacks.

The game is set to be released in 2023 for Playstation 5, Playstation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One and PC.

100% they will have microT in there. no accident they are making open world, shared world, huge world bosses. it is just a question, how bad those microT will be.

Day one for me with Diablo IV. Played about 15 hours of Diablo III and enjoyed it but once Diablo IV was announced, I decided to drop it and instead just wait for IV. Will be playing as the Rogue.

My friends and i are really keen as well, big-time diablo Fans of course, really want to see more on the itemization of gear, weapons, etc.

Personally not a fan of what i have seen so far in terms of the rogue was hoping for something more akin to diablo 2 amazon in terms of bow skills,

Other than that, hope the Beta is soonish, Blizzard soon :cautious:

Wow.

I'm now wanting this game more than BG3.

Open-world Diablo? Hell yea!

The graphics engine is based on the one for D2:Resurrection. It's a very good looking engine with a lot of detail.

Have only played Diablo III which I dropped after about 15 hours because Diablo IV was announced and I simply decided to wait for it instead of putting 100+ hours into Diablo III. The Rogue character gameplay from early 2020 if I remember correctly is what got me into the character. She jumping off horses and shooting arrows from above to rain down on enemies. Plus she can still use melee weapons so I know the character is covered in close combat and ranged combat. I also see here as perhaps being the most balanced character but we'll see.

D4 is likely around 8 months away. There is a lot of fun to be had on D3 and D2.
These games have enough replay value and are different enough for you to come back later.
I don't think I'll never play D3 after D4 releases (currently playing D2 ressurected).

I agree but if I play Diablo 3, I'll lose interest in playing Diablo 4. When it comes to franchises that I have never played but a new one gets announced and revealed, I usually just wait for the new one because if I play the older games, chances are, I'll have my fill of it and won't care about the new game. In this scenario, I prefer to just wait Diablo IV because that's where my hype and interest is.

Gotcha, is just that D2 is something I've played a shitton and D3 is our go to game to have conversations and catch up with friends I don't talk to as often.
Relaxing if you want to and we can push it hard until someone complains "guys I'm dying from one hit projectiles."

Phantasy Star Online (the OG one on DC/GC/Xbox) is something that I go back during hard times.
Some games have this "familiar warm blanket" feel to it, to me some are the ones I've mentioned.

Okay, cool. Sounds like you and your friends have a lot of fun playing co-op.

One thing I should have mentioned. I'm a solo gamer so when I play Diablo IV, it will be 100% completely solo. For those who play with friends, it makes more sense to go back especially if everyone playing is enjoying the game.

Oh believe me, I play a lot of Diablo solo as well. Some seasons I started with the guys, played to the point I was overpowered to play with them, so I've created a different char from start. Then played to reach their damage level and ended up being too overpowered to play with them AGAIN.:ROFLMAO:

Rest assured that the single player portion is deep enough and multiplayer is completely optional.

@Sircaw, already deeply respected you, now knowing you are an old-school Diablo player, I respect you even more. :devilish:
