Does Nintendo announcing Switch 2 before the holidays make sense?

Rumors are we are going to get a Switch 2 announcement either this month or in October, but I can't help but think that makes no sense.

A January or February announcement makes way more sense for a March or April release.

Why would you wait until Spring '25 to launch your system, but kill off your potential holiday sales? The only way I can see that happening is if the Switch 2 is massively expensive and they don't think it'll have an impact on Switch sales... Either that or Switch gets a price cut this Holiday season in advance of the Switch 2 release.

I don't think it makes sense and am even leaning towards it being delayed from spring to, at earliest, summer.

Bummer, I am ready to move on, haven't touched the Switch in months.

I just want to know if it'll have bc. It should but it's Nintendo so you never know.
It should yes and the rumors do say it'll... But I agree we should wait and see as you never know what Nintendo might or might not do with the NS 2 tbh! 🤷‍♂️

No.

Staying with my mid to late January reveal/showcase/presentation ala January 2017.
