Dragon Quest III - HD2D Remake - platform confirmed

I'm sure the 6 people on Xbox that will actually buy this are really excited
Terrible decision to skip ps4 with the install base still there. Wasting their time with the xbox port unless xbox is guaranteeing them a revenue point and they will make up the difference for the port
Wtf is this, Dragon Quest has always been a series associated with nintendo and even if it shows up on the xbox showcase why does that even matter? This time if the game doesn't sell well they won't have playstation to blame
It is extremely on brand of SE that right as Xbox is in its death throes they start this multiplatform initiative.
To those of you saying that it's a bad idea for them to skip PS4 - how do you expect PS5 to overtake PS4 if we never leave it behind? We're almost 4 years into the gen. I think it's time to let last gen die already, even if it's something simple that can run on the last gen hardware. I see it as just another reason for people to upgrade to PS5s.
As for this announcement... I've seen some speculation that they may have gone ahead and included DQ 1 and 2 in with 3, making it a seamless experience while playing the Erdrick trilogy. That could explain why we've had 3 years of complete radio silence after DQ3 HD-2D was announced, since it could potentially be larger in scope than they initially planned. It could also explain why the video in the tweet says "The legacy begins." The YouTuber Davidvinc RPGs made a video about this and he included a snippet from the DQ3 HD-2D announcement from 3 years ago, in which Yuji Hori seemingly went off script and was alerted via an alarm when he mentioned how they should remake DQ 1 and 2 if they're going to do 3. I really hope this is the case because I never played those older Dragon Quest games, and I have adored all the HD-2D RPGs I've played so far and would gladly buy as many as they're willing to release as long as the quality is as high as it has been for stuff like Live A Live and Octopath.
