Key points:

-ASUS finally starting to make statements that are friendly to consumers, reaching out to affected people
-"warranty void" notices removed from BIOS update pages
-ASUS tried to hit GN with an NDA after they spent thousands of dollars to fly out to meet them, GN turned it down and walked away
-While things are getting better on this issue GN thinks the way things are being handled are indicative of a culture issue at the company
-Brought a lawyer on to discuss why&how the EULA's and other agreements are being used by companies like ASUS to deflect liability from themselves
-Clauses with nesting references to other documents allow ASUS and other companies to use a "just trust me bro" approach to covering claims - minor issues can be met with warranty coverage but can fall back on these vague and broad terms of service to reduce or avoid liability in serious/widespread cases
-Lawyer says the best way to proceed is to find companies with clear, understandable terms and conditions/warranties etc when you do business
