Getting rid of Smash has been such a boon for this event. A good, varied lineup. Personally, I would've gone with Capcom vs. SNK 2 as the classic entry, but that's just me. Or Marvel vs. Capcom 2, but MvC3 was there last year.

Great lineup.

Silly that Nintendo don't want Smash Bros in there.

Looks like the event has benefited from it being out in ways though.

They don't want no one playing competitively or making money from smash.

Iirc they have cvs2 there last year. They might show off less shovelware crap in that area and bring in more snk fighters.

Chipotle saviour of the FGC :ROFLMAO:
Great lineup, lots of new games big and small for this event.
The new bigger venue is going to contribute greatly to the overall experience for those who can afford to go in person, happy for them.

We're truly in a new Golden Age of the FGC.
This started with Guilty Gear Strive in 2021 but things have been rolling along with quality netcode(for the most part) and wave of games ever since.

And now with SF6/Tekken8/Mk1(alright, this one is a bit of a letdown) all in the same year and a new venue, things promises to be hot.

We also have Project L from Riot Games, which we're going to see more of this year, possibly with a beta of some kind.
No matter how little or big the game becomes, it's still going to bring the audience from Riot/LoL into the FGC.
That's some new eyeballs that might actually pick up another game or two and get into the scene, very valuable in terms of potential growth.

MK1 1st and last appearance.

Game is always full of casuals, this is why this game always spikes hard in the number of entrants for the first year and then has a significant drop off starting in year 2.
But considering how the game's been received from the get go... That's not an impossibility.
I guess it also depends on what releases come out between now and EVO 2025.
