Between PS moving office from Japan to California (which if they was still in Japan it would be much cheaper overall to run due to weaker yen) & them ignoring there old universal game franchises that would cater to Japan. Aswell as increasing price + not having any true investment into Japan PS has & is killing there market share in Japan which will effect other Asia market.

Loosing Capcom exclusivity, loosing Square Enix exclusivity & loosing Sega exclusivity & Sony still doesn’t pull the trigger in making majority investment in these publisher to get exclusive games from there franchise or outright acquiring a Japan publisher such as Capcom, Square Enix, Sega (which at one point Sony could’ve acquire if not 1 but 2 Japanese publisher such as capcom back in 2015 & Square Enix around the same time)

Nintendo switch 2 is going to get what where once these exclusive game franchise such as Yakuza, Persona, FF & Monster Hunter/RE/SF day 1 on Switch 2 & Nintendo is doubling down on first party output. Smh incompetent leadership & short sighted vision instead PS is marketing the GOW ragnarok PC/Steamdeck port while the PS5 pro been received disastrous. The gap between Steamdeck & Nintendo Switch will get smaller between PS consoles

Unfortunately retail outlets probably didn't put in big orders for this game based of pre-order interests. The short announcement / promo cycle was definitely the wrong approach for this game. Hopefully word of mouth will help it out for the rest of the year

Maybe many cancelled their pre-orders the moment Astro and PC were put in the same sentence by the game director.

LOL I doubt that 😂

I think pre-orders were just bad leading up to realease and stores played it safe to not be stuck with too many unsold copies, given how terrible PS5 software sales have been in Japan at retail.

Even on PSN pre-orders were weak

Capcom & SE had heavy ties w PS regarding exclusive games that’s clearly changing & w Nintendo your already seeing games from major franchise releasing exclusive or first on Nintendo & not on PS even thoe PS can run them like Monster Hunter rise & Dragon Quest monsters & I expect this to continue with Nintendo getting these exclusivity deals w major 3rd party Japanese publisher as Nintendo has complete lockdown in Japan.

I wouldn’t put it pas Nintendo to get exclusive final fantasy games in the future to introduce ff to Japanese gamers more directly. Also games that used to be exclusive to PS now releases on PC aswell as Valve/Steam own console w the Steamdeck

Not sure why PS does this. Like 2 years of hype & notice is good. Reveal the game w cgi or a mix of cgi & gameplay then when it’s 1 year to 6 month of do a gameplay trailer w another deeper dive of gameplay + special editions 3 months. Feels like PS reveals there games within 3-6 month before release
