Happy for Ronin. I recognize the game’s “faults” but I don’t… since I love the game.

It would be great if the same thing happened in the West but the rivalry with Dragons Dogma 2 was too strong. The game is fantastic 😢

Sony may need to do a price cut for PS5 in Japan and get PS Portal stock up in the country. Maybe even do a targeted bundle with PS5 Digital & PS Portal for say $499.

Yes we know Totoki's said they're focused on profits but they should also know that specific regions may need specific strategies to help improve things in that particular region. Japan is one of those exceptions; they need to focus on growth there vs. trying to maximize profits and if that means taking a hit on hardware profits in Japan so be it. If that means enforcing restrictions on who can buy those unit bundles in the Japanese market (limit them to people with active residence in Japan, for starters), so be it.

Japan may not be the biggest market anymore or even the second-biggest, but a ton of talent comes from there and so do valued IPs. And it's still a market worth growing in to gain more software sales over the long run. They can't simply let Nintendo just run away with the Japanese gaming market, or do nothing to counterbalance PC/Steam growth within that market. Sony have to be more competitive there.
