I can understand him a bit I guess.

When I was 15 years old I listened some random music from a new disc of a rock band my friends liked and I didn’t like… I mean I didn’t hate it but it was not that music you out to listen frequently.

But for these things like destiny a very close friend brought the CD and lent it to me on weekend (he basically forced it putting on my bag).

I forget it until the Sunday when I had nothing to do… I stated to listen the CD in order and it was one of the best music experience I ever had… I entered in a pseudo focused state where everything outside the music vanished.

How the one music ends and lead to the other music makes all the difference… when you think the whole disc has a sequence that makes sense with one music supporting the other… or preparing you to the next one.
I become a fan.

Since that day I have the costume to listen albums the first time in the order… of course the digital come and spotty made album broken 🤷‍♂️.

For the curious… it was Rated R from Queens of The Stone Age… but after that I give another try to others bands like Gun’n’Roaes that I was not that fan but listening their first disc in order changed my mind.

It made appreciate Peral Jan more too.

Most of recent game music are "boring" because they are very similar in near a copy paste.
That is not a issue with game music only... most of the musics in the world are done like that... there is a template to follow to have well "success" so a lot of musics feels similar and "boring".
And yes that is with big names in the music industry too.

The issue will probably become worst because AI will make it even more well "similar", artificial, "boring", etc.

And there is a thing with limitations... when you have too many limitation you end doing more of you to surpass them to offer a better quality... and that really ends in some masterpiece musics.
That is not something only in music... others industries are the same... when you have to think outside the bubble due limitations you end doing an extreme good job.

Of course there are exceptions in all places... some composer go out that bubble and create some unique hits.
