Any good? Anything you'd compare it to?
Looking at it it looks like a cross between the tactical combat of a jagged alliance with cut down mech customization of armored core.
Niiice finally. Love the series. Wish the originals got a port too.

I am but FM is top tier for me, even though it's turn based.

It's a turn based mech game. Your typical squad game where you upgrade your stuff and have access to several different weapons, short and long range. So you kind of have to get a nice balance. It also allows you to destroy enemy robot body parts, preventing them from moving, shooting and the like.
The 3rd game, also being remade, includes a meta game whee you get to browse the internet, hack sites and look for passwords. You get a desktop and you can buy new wallpapers and the like. A really nice feature that even impacts some missions if you manage to hack into different sites and find alternate routs etc. One of my favorite PS1 games.
