User agreement: "You do not actually own this game. We will take all the personal data we can from you, and use it however we want. If this game is broken, glitchy, laggy, or damages your system in anyway. Too bad lol."

Me: Uuuuuh. How much do I want to play this game?

I still don't get how it is legal anywhere to require you to sign an agreement to use a product you already paid for and own.

This is more, "Even though you bought this with money we want the right to take it away form you without any compensation."

US law states that any single purchase (not subscription) product is yours under the First Sale Doctrine, even digital. Companies who say otherwise are lying, it’s just that no one is going to fight them over it in court.

We shouldn't have to sign a EULA to play a game we OWN

If I buy a game physically, I challenge them to come to my house and try to stop me playing it!

But do you really? Are the game files actually in the disc to begin with?
Yes. 99% of the time. Xbox does coaster discs, where only a bit of data is on them and you have to download them. PS has very few of those games and none of them are first party.

It's because Microsoft pays a licence fee to Sony each time a disk is used since Sony owns the Copyright for Blue Ray Discs, although its also shared with 18 other companies. I think it works out to be like 0.075 cents every time it's used or something

That fee is charged irrespective of the amount of data read/copied from the disc, and a minimal amount is always read to identify the game anyway.
They're not trying to avoid fees, they're trying to force users into all-digital content.
