In short the bug has been in the game for ages but it was just discovered. Has to do with slowing frame rates to sub 30fps and then messing with the crafting table in a way you can give any legendary crafted weapon the exotic frame special traits and making max damage crazy weapons that just melt everything. Players have essentially been able to create their own unique exotic weapons with insane results.
It’s definitely game breaking. And players are going ham with it. Bungie is letting us enjoy the fun too. All modes have players abusing this on both console and pc. It’s harder to do on ps5 and series x than other platforms.
This has actually caused a pretty significant population increase this morning alone where its already passed 100k when the season has been hovering at 80k peak for a few weeks now. Honestly, most exciting thing to happen to the game in ages. It’s mostly hilarious.
I’m concerned that there will be a rollback because players are soloing content in ways unlike ever before so not sure I’m gonna want to engage with it this weekend.
