There are some slides in other threads pointing to potential gaming demographics by age and gender I believe specifically for Sony (via Sony leaks) so I wanted to make this thread to shed a light on the general gaming demographics.

Please understand that when talking about gaming they do usually include mobile gaming such as your favorite gf/bF game such as "Candy Crush"uts gaming so they add it!

Any opposing or additonal info is welcomed.


Most people still think of boys and teens when they hear about gamers. However, gaming is no longer exclusively a male-dominated industry.

In 2022, women comprised around 48% of US gamers. The number of women gamers has been consistently increasing over the years.

I don't consider that a real gamer. A gamer is someone who plays games as a pastime.

Also think they need to split mobile gaming away from core gaming in these stats.... Conflating all the stats with COD and Mario at the end seems really disengenuous.

Even if there is a mobile cod.

Also think they need to split mobile gaming away from core gaming in these stats.... Conflating all the stats with COD and Mario at the end seems really disengenuous.

Yes, that was going to be put in OP they don't and rarely discount mobile because tht is still gaming however these stats also have definitive about console gaming.

Just labelling everyone a gamer as some sort of umbrella term is absurd.

My Girlfriend sometimes plays random mobile games, it doesn't make her a gamer. She has no interest in Playstation or Nintendo.

Theres a very big difference with someone who occasionally plays candy crush and someone who plays an MMO or Balfour's Gate.

Just labelling everyone a gamer as some sort of umbrella term is absurd.

My Girlfriend sometimes plays random mobile games, it doesn't make her a gamer. She has no interest in Playstation or Nintendo.
They quoted several diff sources for info but tht specific data on not sure.
