Subscribers who exceed the 100-hour monthly limit will need to pay for additional hours or settle for the free GeForce Now tier.

They're doing this to deter account sharing. They can't block based on IP address because part of the value of cloud is being able to play anywhere on multiple devices.

100 hours for an individual is pretty generous, but 50 hours for 2 or more people each becomes a bit more untenable.

Personally I would have done like 75 hours but maybe they're working up to it.

"Cloud gaming is the future"

Hahahahahahaaaaaa

I'm not sure this is a referendum on cloud gaming. No individual is playing more than 100 hours a month on gaming and the rare few aren't going to be upset paying a little more for additional hours especially if they're playing without the need to pay for a console or PC.

It's purely targeting account sharing something console and even PC don't have to deal with as much.

You just swallow everything the corporations do, without question. You're a boot licker and a blight on the industry.

There is no redeeming feature or need or excuse as to why a limit needs to be put in place.

Companies that don't make money cease services and employees lose jobs.

I don't agree with everything corporations do, but I certainly realize that they need to make money and justify their existence with a reasonable return on investment.

Many games, mostly kids I'm assuming with no money think everything should be free, but they don't realize the people making the games they play need to put food on the table and their salaries need to keep up with inflation and larger teams are needed to support bigger games.

For Nvidia here, they have to continuously replace their server farms with upgraded hardware. Geforce Now will have to support 50 series cards and there is a cost associated with that. It's both a benefit and a downside to the business model.

Compare that to say Sony and Microsoft who at worst only need to do this every 4 years compared to every 2 years.

Even with a 100 hour cap, in fact, in spite of it, I still think cloud gaming is a very real potential disruption to the traditional hardware industry for gamers.

Having tried out Geforce Now on my LG OLED with a DualSense connected to it via Bluetooth, I can tell you almost without a doubt that streaming is the future of gaming.

Would it be my preference? No, I just spent 440 bucks on a PS5 Pro upgrading from my PS5, but without a doubt it's the future. All you need is a controller and if you're not going to play you can just cancel your account. You always have the best graphics available.

The biggest thing holding Geforce Now back is the games and people's internet connections. I think slowly but surely, this will takeover, which is probably why consoles might need to push to be hybrid in the future to have real value as streaming will struggle for much longer outside of the house.

Yeah. My younger relatives can't afford a gaming system, so they just pay a bit for a month worth of GeForce here and there and get by just fine.
