The answer is yes, sometimes. Unless you have an x3d chip, which severely mitigates it. Is it worth spending >$100 on? No.

fast DDR5 memory is so cheap now there's no point in going with slower speeds. But DDR5 when it first came out wasn't worth it at all.

there are definitely much more expensive DDR5 kits that can clock higher and have much tighter timings which helps, but you're looking at like 3-4% max. Not worth it over a cheapo 6000cl30 kit

its worth it for future proofing alone, it's AT MOST $20 more expensive than budget kits...which is literally nothing in a $1k + build over the course of 4+ years.

you are paying for the aesthetic and name brand, not the ram

There are high quality 7200mhz cl34 sticks for $100-$130.... Those that spend $200-$250 do it just to flex or they prefer the design and have money to blow

That's cl34-45-45-115, the sticks I linked are cl34-44-44-96 and cl38-48-48-128 which are the best timings you can get on 7200 and 8000mts memory right now

That’s literally a .01% difference for an extra $80 😂😂😂 it doesn’t refute my original point, it’s better to buy 7200mhz cl34 for $120 versus 6000mhz cl30 for $100.

$20 difference for 5% vs $80 difference for .01% is not the same.

If you eventually decide to get a lot of memory, like 64 to 128GB, it's a whole lot cheaper to just go with a X3D and cheaper memory.
