My gf must be at the very least 10 hours in and hasn't seen over 1/3 of the map. It's a huge game.
Some notes
- I haven't seen any use of ray tracing, but SSR is implemented ok
- dynamic light and shadows (when you use lumous) look great
- There's some sections In Hogwarts where you can tell a door opening is delayed, probably because it's loading the next map section. This takes a few moments. I suspect last gen versions will have a small loading screen.
- there's a few graphical quirks here and there, but they are few and far between, and should be fixed with a patch
- there's loads of collectibles. I mean LOADS
- story seems interesting but I haven't been following that much
- fast travel takes around 10 seconds or less, depending on where you're fast travelling to. I didn't measure but it's ballpark that
- graphics overall are really good. Nothing groundbreaking, but very good for the genre
One thing to note: hogwarts is absolutely massive, you can get everywhere. Same for hogsmeade. Some stuff is locked behind a level system or spell system. The open world feels a bit like an Ass Creed game but less empty, and hogwarts feels like a living and breathing entity with stuff happening all over.
I'll keep my rate of 9/10 for now.
