How much have you spent this generation on gaming? Multiple consoles included are fine as well as PC Rigs and purchases.

I know we get the annual numbers and monthly numbers but serious question just based off an estimate how much have "you" spent on gaming or gaming related purchases this gen?

2 ps5s=$1, 100
A Switch=$500
Switch games=$240
PS5 GAMES=Idk but I'll say around $1,400
PSVR2=$570
2 earbuds=$450
3 controllers=240
2 Gaming chairs=$240
Annual ps plus subs every year=$450.
New 4k TV=$1,200
PS5 plates=$110 (have several)
Gaming comforter $70
Gaming accessories =$210

=$6,780

This is just a guesstimate, I'm sure I'm missing some things or even under counting. My expenses are probably closer to $10,000. It's just crazy to see how much we actually spend on our hobby.

When gamers say stuff like "companies or devs don't owe us anything" it's bs they owe us their whole livelihood because without us there would be no them.

Very little. Got Tekken 8 and will get FF7 and that is it for this year. Last year was nothing.

I didn't actually. My boss gifted me the ps5.
OH makes sense. I figured also that might have happened. Nice boss! I bought two but my sons mother won a PS5 on an Instagram online raffle! That was crazy.

That is nice. Mine won a laptop in those raffles. I gave her a look and told her "i knew you when a wanted to win a ps3 and you did nothing"
Also some kid gave my oldest his switch. Told her if she wants Splatoon 3 to ask him for it. She is 11 btw.

Well in the last couple of years I upgraded my pc and bought a Ryzen 5600x and a new gpu back then (the 3070) and A LOT of games on steam sales that I have never actually played, so I guess around $1000 on that.

Last year I bought my first console, a ps5 thanks to the madmans on this forum, that was around $800 since they are quite expensive here but I didn't spent that much on games yet since the console came with some sort of collection back then, and Playstation plus is adding new games all the time. I feel like I actually played way more since I got the Playstation than I played the last couple of years on pc, so I'm thinking about starting an actual library, I bought The Witcher 3 yesterdat but I feel that is going to last a long time haha.

I love to hear the PC rig talk and see pics. One day I'll finally jump in!

Switch gamer so my estimates will be a lot different from yours, time-wise but...

I own around 100 physical Switch games, included a group lot of sealed JRPGS that I purchased for 600 dollars so...

probably 2500 dollars on Switch games another 500 on the system and accessories (own a secondary dock, a pro-controller and had to get my system repaired by a third party once) and then own a bunch of the limited edition Switch system boxes so thats another 300 or so. That gets me to 3500. But I am also a major retro games collector, so there's probably at least 2000 dollars of non-Switch stuff that I purchased within that time-frame. And I also brought two tvs specifically for gaming one, one was a little dinky one for 300 and the other an 80 inch 4k for around 1700. So that gets me to 7500 US dollars.

So yeah, 7500 dollars and realistically I am probably underestimating things. But here's the kicker, due to the Covid and post-Covid surge in retro game prices I've probably actually made money on gaming items during that time, rather than losing it.

PS5
Black Dual Sense
Quest 2
RX 7600
Only a few new releases per year
PS+

I'll upgrade my TV to a 55" OLED in the next few months but I don't count that as a gaming expense.
A G29 Wheel + PSVR2 is on my plans as well.

I'll possibly end up selling the Quest 2 and maybe even my PC, as I plan on playing more PS5 this year, but I haven't decided yet. My work notebook or a Steam Deck would probably be enough for my PC gaming needs.
